1. There have been cases wherein the husband and wife who are both serving/ retired and are otherwise eligible for applying for an AWHO scheme have both registered for an AWHO scheme separately. This is not permitted vide Amplification Note 4 to Para 12 of AWHO Master Brochure Jul 87 (as amended) as under :-

"WHERE BOTH HUSBAND AND WIFE ARE ELIGIBLE, ONLY ONE OF THEM CAN APPLY"

2. The details of the existing registration/allotment are to be mentioned at Para 16 (a) & (b) of the application form (AH 30) by the applicant.

3. A few such cases of dual registration have come to our notice and accordingly the registration/allotment has been cancelled. Further, any other such registrants in contravention of above rule are cautioned to take immediate action by self withdrawal. Any cases coming to our notice hereafter will entail cancellation of registration/allotment and forfeiture of registration amount of both the registrants. Plea on ignorance of the rules will not be accepted.
