WATER
According to the Noida Authority, the citizens of this burgeoning township will soon start getting Ganga Water with commissioning of Rs. 122 crore Ganga Water project.
Noida has completed its infrastructure for the distribution of water in the town, with all its channels in place.
Noida, Ghaziabad and the UP Housing Development Council will get 50 cusecs Ganga water with Noida getting 10 cusecs and GDA and the Housing Development Council getting 15 cusecs each.
A water treatment plant has been set up near Pratap Vihar to control and monitor the water supply.
In Noida the Ganga water will be stored in an underground reservoir with a capacity of Rs. 25,000 kiloliters. From here, it will be linked with five zonal reservoirs being readied in different parts of the city. Each of these storage tanks will have a capacity of 5,000 kilolitres each.
The water will then be supplied to all sections. through a pipe network from the underground reservoirs. In all, 32 underground water reservoirs are being constructed.
The project should be completed by May-end this year and Noidaities will start getting Ganga water by Jul 2003.
